Please ignore the numbers - somewhere along the line I picked up the habit of counting my total amount of 100-word drabbles written. (It's an obsession.) Just for my easier orientation among them and stuff. XD

As you may have noticed, it wasn't exactly a clever move to take voluntary asssignments on myself at the start of this crazy week. But, finally! Below are my first three responses to the meme, and the rest will come along soon since I'm doing them in the order I received the prompts. You can still request a fic in my previous post if you'd like to and haven't yet, of course.

On to the service.

Title: Eternity
Pairing: Albus/Gellert
Prompt: "Pensieve, glass, feather" for [livejournal.com profile] estriel.
Summary: Albus has a quiet moment with his past.
Notes: The pairing is so subtle you'll probably need goggles. But then again, what else would Albus be thinking about just then?
Disclaimer: I'm only playing in JKR's sandbox without any hope or wish to get paid for it.

The memories swirl like smoke on the smooth, revealing surface of the Pensieve as Albus adds them in, each one lighter than a feather and just as beautiful. He doesn’t have the heart to examine them at any great length; they are still strangely fresh, with sharp edges that can cut right through, as if they refused to even acknowledge that several decades have passed since they were new. But Albus is not like them. He no longer believes in eternal youth – let alone eternal life.

Because all he has is the everlasting memory, fragile like a piece of glass.

Title: Upward Climb
Pairing: Remus/Sirius
Prompt: "Haunted, soft, maybe" for [livejournal.com profile] mustntgetmy.
Summary: Remus and Sirius know how to celebrate.
Notes: Gah, this one was being difficult.
Disclaimer: Again, the characters and all Harry Potter things belong to JKR. I make no profit and mean no harm.

Of all the ridiculous settings they have haunted for privacy together, Remus liked the evening their combined skills for mischief earned them several blessed hours atop the Astronomy Tower best. Maybe that’s enough reason for celebrating this adventure’s first anniversary. It’s analogical but different – the sky is less cloudy, the early summer wind feels milder, and naturally he and Sirius talk about different things while they still care to talk.

Tracing the soft skin of Sirius’s back, finally experienced enough to hold him trembling against himself, Remus settles on the fact that he does like tonight better, all the same.

Title: Before a Fall, or Premonition
Pairing: Basil/Dorian after all (The Picture of Dorian Gray)
Prompt: "Bend, snap, stumble" for [livejournal.com profile] serenity_winner.
Summary: Basil has difficulties capturing the essence of his model.
Notes: Set after Basil started to paint Dorian's picture. (Dorian isn't quite so corrupt yet. xD)
Disclaimer: Oh, haha, I am SO not Oscar Wilde.

The canvas is already half-filled, his picture forming nicely, but it scarcely compares to the image of perfection Basil strives to recreate, which makes him all the more conscious of the golden youth who is now staring off into space, lounging on the sofa. Close yet unfathomable, Basil knows. So he returns his concentration to the painting, intent on making each of its colours vibrant as though with life itself, every single line refined with beauty. The desire to reach past his talent, to challenge it and bend it until it snaps, overcomes him completely.

Dorian watches him stumble, smiling.

Hope you like them!

One question - mind if I compile these ficlets and post them to the appropriate comms sometime later? Since they're your drabbles, after all. ; )

Thank you! You know, at first I wanted to write a post-Azkaban type thing, about Sirius "hanting" Grimmauld Place and such...then I realized I was already working on a longer fic along those lines. So I turned it around and went for a different mood. Also, that "soft" sentence is my (endlessly re-worded) pride and joy!

I'm glad you liked the other fics as well. (And you have to read Dorian Gray when you have time to spare! It's not even that long, you'll see.)

^_^

Yes, I would've thought that "haunting" would inspire either something with Grimmauld Place or the Shrieking Shack. (Good luck on your fic! ^_^) And what a lovely mood; I'm glad you went in that direction. :D

I'm pretty sure it's on my list somewhere. I'm planning on reading most of the top books on www.bibliophil.org and I think it's on there.

(Obviously I can't spell "haunting." *facepalm*) You're right, and it was nice to take the word in a different context for a change. Sometimes a lovely mood is just the way to go. ^_^

Oh, cool plan. Is that a useful site, by the way? I'm a bit surprised I've never heard of it.

(No worries! I have the editting tool and I still couldn't catch that I misspelled "thing" in another comment) I'm glad you went with the lovely mood, it was so pleasant and uplifting :)

It's useful if you're into organizing what books you've read and interacting with other people who are into organizing what books they've read. I can't say I use it very often. I just happen to like it because of their Top 250 books list is based of user votes and I like lists that are more user based that arbitrarily chosen, as I'm sure you know ^_^

(Oh, okay. ^_^) I have to say I needed it as well!

Sounds like a cool site. That it doesn't follow the arbitrary pattern is always a good thing! ; )
